Travel Arrangements

How to get to our chalet

Courchevel is easily accessible by air, train and road or a combination. We will help guests to choose the method which is most suited and will arrange collection from local links where possible. If required we will also make flight reservations although we generally find guests prefer to make their own arrangements.

By Car

This can prove the most convenient and economical way for families and groups. The drive from Calais is about 610 miles and takes about eight to ten hours mainly on good motorways. The cost of motorway tolls is about 60 Euros. We have found that the Shuttle Tunnel is the least stressful of channel crossings at about forty minutes. For details of fares see:

www.eurotunnel.com

By Train

Eurostar operate two trains each way at weekends from St Pancras International or Ashford to Moutiers, just twenty minutes from the resort. Standard class seats tend to be heavily booked by some of the large tour operators at times but first class is still relatively economic in relation to the ease of the service.

Eurostar also operate St Pancras International to Paris (Gare du Nord) and a taxi or metro across Paris to the Ski train at Gare de Lyon. This travels by day, or over night with couchettes, to Moutiers.

By Air

There are four main airports which serve Courchevel; Geneva, Lyon, St Etienne or Chambery. easyJet runs many daily flights to Geneva from a number of UK airports, including Gatwick, Luton, Stansted, East Midlands, Bristol and Liverpool. They also fly to Lyon (St Exupery) from Stansted. The earlier the booking the cheaper the flight.

Ryanair also flies daily with reasonable rates to St Etienne near Lyon, but the transfer from St Etienne is less convenient and more expensive than the transfer from Lyon St Exupery.

Flybe and other operators fly to the nearer Chambery. Air France flies to Lyon (St Exupery), Swissair to Geneva and British Airways to both.

Chambery is closest but may close in bad weather and flights can be diverted elsewhere. Geneva has adequate bus/shuttle links to Courchevel. Lyon St-Exupery has fewer links to Courchevel, especially midweek, but the journey is easier and quicker than from Geneva if you hire a car.

Airport Transfers

There are five main airports Geneva, Chambery, Grenoble, Lyon and St Etienne have rail and coach links to Moutiers. We can also arrange for collection by taxi or minibus from airports, or from Moutiers railway station.

Transfer Costs

Moutiers: 60€ or 15€ per person in a shared transfer
Chambery: 230€ or 50€ per person in a shared transfer
Geneva: 260€ or 60€ per person in a shared transfer
Grenoble: 320€ or 70€ per person in a shared transfer
Lyon: 320€ or 70€ per person in a shared transfer
